DMA Dr. Luis Gonzalez received his B.M and Licensure in Piano Performance from the University of Costa Rica and M.M. in Piano Performance from the University of New Orleans. He also earned a M.M in Collaborative Piano from Florida State University and D.M.A in Piano performance and Pedagogy and Literature from James Madison University.
Dr. Gonzalez was a concerto competition finalist at U.C.R (1985) and JMU (2008). Former piano faculty and staff accompanist at U.C.R. and the National Institute of Music in Costa Rica. He was also a founder member of Young Chamber Musicians in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Dr. Gonzalez was an Organist for the Metropolitan Choir at the National Cathedral in San Jose. He is currently an adjunct faculty at Mary Baldwin College. He also participated in the Early Music Workshops at Oberlin’s Baroque Performance Institute, Amherst Winter Baroque, and Virginia Baroque Academy. He performed a Solo and collaborative recitals in Costa Rica, El Salvador and the United States. He also participated in the Research on the use of cinematic imagery in piano pedagogy.
