children in summer camp

(Online registration form located at the bottom of this page)

Let children express their creativity and experience the world of performing and creative arts. They will view the world through musical instruments, creative art, and theater.

Harmonia offers a variety of summer camps for children ages 4-17, and weekly Instrument, Voice, and Art classes for all ages and levels.

Musical Theater & Creative Arts Camp

Ages 5-7, Ages 8-14

Join us for a creative adventure through musical theater, music and art! During our 2-week camps, students explore a musical instrument, create fun and educational art projects, and perform in their very own musical theater show. With such a variety of exciting activities, many campers return for all four sessions of the summer.
Harmonia’s highly skilled and experienced instructors are excited to help students open their minds and eyes to a new world of performing and visual arts. Students are divided into two groups, ages 5-7 and 8-14, participating in programs that are tailored to the needs of each group.
On the last day of each session, campers will put on a big show on stage! Parents and friends are invited to come watch our camper’s musical theater show, mini-orchestra concert, and view the curated art show of projects campers have made throughout the two weeks.

Junior counselors may volunteer for one or multiple camp sessions. Junior Counselors are involved in every aspect of camp; from participating in activities, to encouraging campers, and supervising projects. Students ages 15-18 may apply to participate in this program by sending a short letter which includes information about yourself, why you would like to be a Harmonia Jr. Counselor, and the sessions you would like to intern at. Potential candidates should submit their information letter along with a completed camp registration form to the office as soon as possible, but no later than June 15, 2018, as spaces in this program are limited.

 Summer Theater Main Stage

   Ages 10-18 FULL!

   * All campers must audition for cast placement.

Harmonia School has three mainstage productions each year; Winter, Spring, and Summer. Unique to our Summer Theater Main Stage, students have the opportunity to put on a full show the way the pros do: with intensive full-day rehearsals over a concentrated period of time!

Students learn all elements of musical theater performance in a cooperative setting as they spend two weeks in production. Rehearsals are led by experienced professionals with extensive performance and teaching credentials in the performing arts world.

Feel the heat of the theater lights on your face as you perform on stage, transported to 19th century France by beautiful costumes, theatrical makeup, detailed sets, and a lush, swelling score that features such famed songs as “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” and “Castle on a Cloud”.

One of the world’s most iconic and longest-running musicals, Les Misérables tells the story of Jean Valjean, a former convict who spends a lifetime seeking redemption. Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France and the aftermath of the French Revolution, this timeless story of intertwined destinies reveals the power of compassion and the quiet evil of indifference to human suffering. As Valjean’s quest for a new life carries him into Paris and to the barricades of the Student Revolution, he is hunted by Inspector Javert and the ghosts of his past. Amidst a battle for the soul of Paris, he discovers the true meaning of love and salvation.

Our intensive program begins with an advance cast-placement audition and script distribution. Cast members are expected to memorize all their materials prior to the first rehearsal.

This production includes over 75 hours of training and three full scale main stage performances.
*Prerequisite: Experience in a theater training or mainstage show is required.
